Privacy Policy

Kaable is operated by Kaable Inc., a Delaware corporation (also referred to as Kaable, we, us). This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect the personal data of users of the Kaable platform (the App and the website kaable.com). It is the English-language version of our Politique de confidentialité and has the same effect.

Last updated: 26 August 2026.

1. SMS / Text Messaging, Côte d’Ivoire (Mobile Message Program)

Who this section applies to. This section applies only to accounts registered with an Ivorian mobile number (country code +225). Accounts registered with a United States phone number are created and verified by email: we send the verification code to the email address on the account, and Kaable sends no verification SMS to those users.

Program name: Kaable OTP (verification codes).

What we send. For Ivorian (+225) numbers, Kaable sends one-time passcodes (OTP) by SMS so a user can verify their own mobile phone number when creating a Kaable account or resetting a password. These messages are strictly transactional. No marketing, promotional or recurring messages are sent under this program.

How consent is obtained. You consent to receive these SMS messages when you enter your own Ivorian mobile number in the Kaable mobile app and tap “Continue” to request a code. Consent is collected only inside the Kaable mobile app. We never obtain phone numbers from purchased, rented or third-party lists, and we never send an SMS without this action by you.

Message frequency. One message per code request. There are no recurring messages.

Cost. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Kaable does not charge you for these messages.

Opt out. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving SMS from Kaable. You will receive one confirmation message and no further messages will be sent.

Help. Reply HELP to any message, or email support@kaable.com.

Data we collect for this program. Your mobile phone number, the fact and timestamp of your consent, and the delivery status of the codes we send.

How we use it. Solely to deliver one-time verification codes, to prevent fraud and account takeover, and to keep records of consent as required.

Sharing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the categories described elsewhere in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell, rent, share or provide your mobile phone number or your SMS consent data to any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. The only parties that process your mobile number are our SMS delivery provider, acting strictly on our behalf to deliver the codes, and our hosting and authentication provider. They are contractually prohibited from using it for their own purposes.

Retention. Consent records are kept for as long as your account is active and for 24 months after closure, to evidence consent.

2. Data Controller

Kaable Inc. is the controller of personal data processed through the Kaable platform. For any request concerning your data, contact support@kaable.com.

3. Data We Collect

Provided by you: first name, last name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed and irreversible), city, profile photo, delivery addresses, and, for sellers who reach regulatory thresholds, official ID, proof of address and business documents (DFE).

Generated by use: order history, bids, live streams followed, messages exchanged through in-app messaging, transactions and withdrawals.

Technical data: device identifiers, the push notification identifier issued by our push notification provider, IP address, error logs and diagnostic data collected through our error monitoring provider, and aggregated audience metrics collected through our analytics provider. This data is not used for advertising.

4. Purposes

We process data to: create and manage your account; verify your phone number or your email address, depending on the country your account is registered in; process payments and deliveries; verify seller identity; prevent fraud and abuse; send operational notifications; improve the service; comply with legal and tax obligations; and defend our rights in the event of a dispute.

Performance of our contract with you (Terms of Use), your explicit consent (marketing notifications and, for Ivorian +225 numbers, the SMS program described in Section 1), our legal obligations (anti-money-laundering, accounting, tax), and our legitimate interest in securing and improving the service.

6. Processors and Third-Party Sharing

We share only the strict minimum necessary with our technical service providers, each under a contractual confidentiality commitment:

Our SMS delivery provider: delivery of SMS one-time passcodes to Ivorian (+225) mobile numbers. Our hosting and authentication provider: database hosting, authentication, file storage, server functions. Paystack Payments Limited: payment and transfer processing (Wave, Orange Money, MTN MoMo, bank card). Stripe, Inc.: card payments and seller payouts for United States boutiques. Our email delivery provider: transactional email, including account verification codes. Our live video provider: live video streaming. Our error monitoring provider: application error monitoring. Our analytics provider: anonymized usage analytics. Our push notification provider: delivery of push notifications.

Payment processors are named because you see them at checkout and on your bank or mobile money statement. Our other providers are described by function rather than by name; the current list of named providers is available on request at support@kaable.com.

No personal data is sold, rented or transferred to third parties for advertising purposes. As stated in Section 1, mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in and consent data are excluded from all sharing described in this section and are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

7. Identity Documents (Seller KYC)

ID documents and business documents submitted for seller verification are stored encrypted and accessible only to authorized Kaable moderation staff. They are never published, shared with other users, or used for any purpose other than identity verification, fraud prevention and compliance with our legal obligations.

8. International Transfers

Some of our processors host infrastructure outside Côte d’Ivoire (United States, Europe). Where your data is transferred, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including standard contractual clauses and security commitments at least equivalent to the applicable local standard.

9. Retention

Account data: kept while the account is active, then deleted within 30 days of a deletion request, unless a longer legal retention period applies. Financial and tax data: 10 years, per accounting law. Moderation and fraud data: up to 5 years. Technical logs: 90 days maximum. SMS consent records: see Section 1.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. To exercise these rights, write to support@kaable.com with reasonable proof of identity. We respond within one month, extendable by two months for complex requests. You may delete your account at any time from within the app; deletion permanently erases data not subject to legal retention within 30 days, after a grace period to prevent accidental deletion.

11. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data: TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, role-based access control (Row-Level Security), strong authentication for Kaable staff, periodic security audits, and an incident response plan. No method is infallible and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Minors

Kaable is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data concerning minors. If we learn a minor has created an account, we delete it and erase the associated data.

13. Cookies

The kaable.com website uses strictly necessary cookies and anonymized analytics tools. The mobile app uses equivalent technical identifiers. See our cookie policy for details.

14. Marketing Communications

Operational notifications (orders, payments, followed live streams) are an integral part of the service. Marketing communications (news, occasional promotions) are sent only with your prior consent, and every message contains an unsubscribe link. Marketing communications are never sent by SMS.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may amend this policy to reflect legal, technical or operational developments. Any material change will be notified through the app or by email. The version in force is always the one published on this page.

16. Contact and Complaints

Questions or complaints: support@kaable.com. You may also contact the competent national data protection authority (ARTCI in Côte d’Ivoire) or the equivalent authority in your country of residence.
